Reflection Paper no. 4
It has been an exiting week during our class course presentations where various students presented their research papers. One student came up with the best presentation about technology which was one of the best presentations ever. He was arguing that there is need for all churches to pay their tithes and offerings through the web site. Also our professor came up with an idea of the magazine he read about the buildings of churches and the Seventh-day Adventist church was identified with a satellite link an excellent idea.
Many presentations on that day were concerning dialectical issues such as the message of righteousness by faith, Adventist reformation, theology of Martin Luther, Zwingli, Anabaptists, opponents of the Adventists, law and grace, strong opponents of philosophy Immanuel Kant and ecumenism.
Indeed it was a discussion of wrestling with the protestant material where all students almost agreed that Adventists have inherited many things from the protestant reformers like the doctrine of the trinity, law and grace, sacraments, righteousness by faith, where one of the student said that we earn our salvation and it was a big debate until when he conceded because we do not earn salvation for it is a gift from God.
Finally we discussed about issues in theology and leadership concerning the sanctuary. We agreed that the sanctuary is God’s resting place. The earth is God’s sanctuary. Israel as a nation is God’s temple; we have the heavenly sanctuary the dwelling place of God. Heaven is God’s sanctuary and we are God’s sanctuary. Sanctuary is the heritage of God who is a historical God. Our eternal inheritance will be a sanctuary.
Indeed I will miss this class but there are more courses offered by our beloved professor Dr. Martin Hanna. May God bless you until we meet in the course works of God.
